With Études, Jan D'Haene (born 1985) creates his own atmospheric world. Free and playful, with sounds deeply rooted in intuition. This EP is the first part of a diptych, resulting from a collaboration with artist Mark Manders for his exhibition in Museum Voorlinden (NL). The fragments developed in parallel with D’Haene’s album Studio Music.
The music on Études is a collection of adventurous experiments. It sounds playful, sometimes even childlike. Like musical excursions, unforced, imaginative and always exploring. With a limited range of instruments, Jan D’Haene creates an unlimited universe.

Met Études creëert Jan D'Haene (°1985) zijn eigen atmosferische wereld. Vrij en speels, met geluiden die diepgeworteld zijn in de intuïtie. Dit EP is het eerste deel van een tweeluik, voortgevloeid uit de samenwerking met kunstenaar Mark Manders voor zijn expo in Voorlinden (NL). De fragmenten ontstonden simultaan met de creatie van D’Haenes album Studio Music.
De muziek op Études is een verzameling van avontuurlijke experimenten. Ze klinkt speels, soms zelfs kinderlijk. Als muzikale uitstapjes, ongedwongen, fantasierijk en altijd op ontdekking. Met een afgebakend instrumentarium creëert hij een ongelimiteerd universum.

Into The Fabrics / DeSingel (2022)

How does art come back into fashion. Can fashion also convey a critical message to an audience? Word artist Hind Eljadid and illustrator Zahra Eljadid make the intangible tangible with Into the fabrics. The sisters reprise their unique artistic collaboration following the success of the bestseller Kruimeldief, an autobiographical book about growing up in poverty and the loss of their mother. Into the fabrics promises to become a critical fashion performance in which painful - and often invisible - experiences such as racism and discrimination become visible. The garments are created by fashion maker Ornella Somanza. The word art and the soundscapes in this performance underline the message of femininity and inner strength

Lam Gents  /  Victoria Deluxe  (2020)

Het Lam Gods, dat in het centrale paneel van het schilderij van Van Eyck wordt aanbeden, werd naar de aarde gestuurd om ‘de zonden der wereld’ weg te nemen.

Victoria Deluxe voelt dat het anno 2020 opnieuw tijd is voor verlossing, waarschijnlijk meer dan ooit. Met een kleine groep makers bouwden ze daarom een nieuw lam, onder leiding van kunstenaar Klaas De Roo. In september 2020 schuimden ze er de Gentse wijken mee af, op zoek naar wat Gentenaren bezwaart én naar wat hen hoop geeft. Componist Jan D’Haene verwerkte de indrukken van het Lam tot een soundscape die werd voorgesteld op 3 oktober 2020 in het kader van ‘Listen to the Lamb’ van Gent Festival van Vlaanderen.
